I am so very touched and excited to be teaching a 6-hour class (3 hours each afternoon) with Wayne Hackett and Carlos Gutterres. We will be focusing our study on the best “tools” you can have when you want to share the Art of Jin Shin with the animals in your world. While I have been studying and sharing this work with animals for over 30 years, the idea first came to me in my first 5-day class with Wayne Hackett outside of Boston in 1989, when I asked him if it “worked with animals?” And he replied that his cats liked it. That sentence started everything for me! It is truly an honor to teach with these 2 men, whom I believe have some of the deepest grasp of the work in the whole world.
We will be looking at some of the gems of the Art of Jin Shin that transfer over to the animal work with ease, after studying and applying them as self-help. They open doors to connection, bonding, communication and harmonizing. You may have worked with them before – Initial Centering flow, Bladder, Spleen (of course) and Main Central, with the 4 variations for the animals. This opportunity to study these few flows in depth will enrich your self-help practice, your professional practice as well as how you share with the animals. I am sure you will look at them anew, full of wide-eyed wonder and aha’s and a deeper understanding of all the connections as you hear Wayne and Carlos share their vast knowledge of the Art with you, me and the animals.
What if all of our goal for the New Year is to find more ways to share the loving touch and compassion of Jin Shin Jyutsu … with all our animals, our friends and family…even ourselves? This profound yet simple energetic harmony practice is needed more than ever in the world. Just look at these pictures of Josephine and you can see it is easy to learn and share. Sweet Josephine came to Alaqua Animal Refuge as a stray, blind in one eye and dragging a shattered hip. She got lots of good care and lots of JSJ. I was thrilled when one of my clients adopted into her family. The family dog was scared and remote until Josephine joined the family. Now, peace prevails as Josephine shares what she knows about connection and gentle touch!

Jin Shin Jyutsu is an ancient hands-on Art for energizing the body, mind and spirit. Jin Shin Jyutsu for Your Animal Companion is a direct outgrowth of Jin Shin Jyutsu (JSJ) as practiced by thousands of people who receive sessions and practice daily self-help. This Art allows the body to release the tensions which can cause symptoms and negative attitudes.
Over the past decades Adele Leas has pioneered this work and made it applicable for domesticated animals. Dogs, cats and horses, along with other animals, have an understanding of this non-verbal Art and seem to have been waiting all their lives to be touched like this. Mary Burmeister, who brought this Art to the West from Japan in the 1950’s tells us that through JSJ our awareness is awakened to the simple fact that we are endowed with the ability to harmonize and balance ourselves (in rhythm with the universe) physically, mentally and spiritually. She tells us “Jin Shin Jyutsu is an innate part of man’s wisdom – simplifying the complexities of existence – and is truly an Art of Living.” Now we have the ability to share this Art of Living with all Creatures.

Jin Shin Jyutsu for Animal Companion Certification
This certification program, recognized by many animal sanctuaries and refuges, will give practitioners a firm base in both the Art of JSJ and the knowledge of how to share it with many different species in diversified situations, allowing the spreading of the Art for animals in an in-depth, meaningful and compassionate way.
Certification will require:
• Attendance at 3 animal JSJ classes, with at least one of them being in-person and in a sanctuary setting where multiple species and varied special needs animals can be worked on. The in-person class must be at least 3 days long.
• 3 5-day human JSJ classes (basic JSJ certification). (https://www.jsjinc.net)
