Discovering the Power of Jin Shin Jyutsu for Humans and Animals Let’s delve into the beautiful practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu, shared by Adele Leas in a recent "We Are One" meditation session. Embracing Unity with All Beings Adele began by expressing her belief in the profound unity between humans and animals. For her, true unity always includes our animal companions. This inclusive view allows us to extend the healing and compassionate practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu to our pets, enhancing the bond we share with them. Starting with Self-Healing If you don't have an animal companion, Adele encourages you to start with self-healing. Begin by holding the back of your skull with one or both hands. Placing one hand on the back of the skull and the other on the center of the breastbone helps focus on the breath and align with the natural pace of life. The Breath as a Healing Cycle Adele emphasized the importance of breath in Jin Shin Jyutsu, describing it as a continuous energetic cycle. The breath flows down the front of the body, letting go, and up the back, receiving universal abundance. By focusing on this cycle, we can release what no longer serves us and invite in new energy and vitality. The Power of Safety Energy Locks One of the key elements in Jin Shin Jyutsu is the use of “safety energy locks.” Adele particularly loves safety energy lock 13, the key to the exhale and unconditional love. Placing one hand on the center of the breastbone (SEL 13) and the other on the back of the skull creates a powerful connection, promoting deep healing and peace. Gentle and Compassionate Touch When working with animals, it's essential to start with gentle, compassionate touch. Adele advises beginning by petting and loving your pet, establishing trust and comfort. Once the animal is relaxed, you can apply the healing holds, such as placing one hand between the front legs and the other on the back between the shoulder blades. The Thunderstorm Quickie For anxious pets, Adele recommends a technique she calls the "thunderstorm quickie." This involves holding safety energy lock 13 (center of the breastbone) and safety energy lock 4 (base of the skull) simultaneously. This hold helps balance the exhale and inhale, bringing a sense of calm and security to the animal. Fostering Animals in Need Adele also highlighted the importance of fostering animals from shelters, especially during times when many are alone and seeking companionship. Fostering provides an opportunity to practice Jin Shin Jyutsu with a new furry friend, deepening your bond and bringing mutual healing and joy. The Magic of Shared Healing The true magic of Jin Shin Jyutsu lies in the shared healing experience. When we practice on our animals, we not only help them but also expand our own hearts and find deeper peace. This practice reminds us that we are all interconnected, fostering a sense of unity and compassion.
